Planted on tertiary marl, Gewurztraminer asserts itself with beautiful tension and chiseled, citrus-marked bitters. Nevertheless, the grape loses none of its greediness. Notes of passion fruit, preserved lemon and ginger stand out clearly on the nose. A fine Gewurztraminer! Packaged in screw cap.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

Biodynamic viticulture always takes a few years to take effect, both in terms of rooting and soil life, and Michel Chapoutier is well aware of this, having bought this estate in 2009 with a few wine-loving friends. Located in northern Alsace, on a vein of blue schist, the estate is gradually making its mark. The Riesling parcels (Burg, Buehl and Fels) are beginning to bring out the subtle nuances of the soil.

Note and review by M. ALAIN S. Published on 16/12/2015

Very disappointed on receipt, the bottles are fitted with screw caps. This does not seem to have been specified at the time of sale. It's not very qualitative.
