Planted on tertiary marl, Gewurztraminer asserts itself with beautiful tension and chiseled bitterness, marked by citrus fruits. Nevertheless, the grape variety does not lose its deliciousness. Pretty notes of passion fruit, candied lemon, and ginger stand out clearly on the nose. A beautiful Gewurztraminer! Packaged with a screw cap.

Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Biodynamics always takes a few years to produce results, both in terms of rooting and soil life, and Michel Chapoutier knows this well, having purchased this estate in 2009 with a few friends who are lovers of fine wines. Located in northern Alsace, on a vein of blue schist, the estate is gradually making its mark. The Riesling parcels (Burg, Buehl, and Fels) are beginning to reveal the subtle nuances of their soil.

Review and opinion by Mr. ALAIN S. Published on 12/16/2015

Very disappointed upon receipt, the bottles have screw caps. This does not seem to have been specified at the time of sale. It does not seem very high quality.
