"Côte de Brouilly Le Clos 2022 comes from more clayey soils at the bottom of the hillside in question. The nose, with its beautiful minerality and great tension, offers aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant leaf. The palate is medium-bodied, with sapid notes of black fruit, a touch of licorice on the mid-palate, and blood orange and spice box on the finish. This wine will need two or three years in bottle, but the wait will be worth it." (Vinous 2024)

From the "pierres dorées" area in southern Beaujolais, this cuvée draws all its freshness and aromatic richness from its high-quality clay-limestone soil. On the nose, a bouquet of flowers greets our senses, before giving way on the palate to greedy notes of stone fruits such as mirabelle plum and apricot. A soft minerality supports the whole.

"The Côte de Brouilly 2021 has evolved well, blending cherry and berry aromas with notes of fiery embers and forest floor. Medium-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with a lively core of fruit, powdery tannins and a sapid, saline finish, it marks a return to a more classically proportioned style after several richer, riper vintages." Château Thivin - Beaujolais Clos de Rochebonne 2019
3.8/5 (14 reviews)
88/100 Robert Parker
"Exhibiting aromas of pear, white flowers and custard, the 2019 Beaujolais Blanc Clos de Rochebonne is medium to dense, satiny and textured, with lively acids and a charming, open-textured profile." (Wine Advocate 2020)
Château Thivin - Reverdon 2019
3.8/5 (26 reviews)
93/100 Robert Parker
"The 2019 Brouilly Reverdon performed particularly well this year, bursting from the glass with notes of peonies and rose petals mingled with wild berries and orange peel. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and lively, it is melting and fragrant, with exquisitely fine tannins and a long, aromatic finish. This is as good a Brouilly as I can remember tasting at Château Thivin." (Wine Advocate 2020) Ideal for any occasion. A benchmark cuvée in its appellation!
Château Thivin - Les Sept Vignes 2019
3.9/5 (9 reviews)
93+/100 Robert Parker
"Bottled just a week before tasting, Thivin's 2019 Côte de Brouilly unfolds in the glass with inviting aromas of plums, red fruits, warm spices and peonies. Medium- to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, it's bright and precise, with a lovely depth to the core and real energy, finishing with a long, slightly tannic finish. A finer, more dynamic touch than the greedy, demonstrative 2018, it shows very well." (Wine Advocate 2020) Another fine vintage!
Château Thivin - Cuvée La Chapelle 2018
4.3/5 (6 reviews)
94/100 Robert Parker
"From a relatively steep, south-facing slope, relatively high in altitude, Thivin's 2018 Côte de Brouilly La Chapelle is a big hit this year. In the glass, aromas of cherries, raspberries, spices and dried roses emerge. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with satiny, structuring tannins, excellent concentration and bright, succulent acidity." (Wine Advocate 2019 - William Kelley) A very pretty vintage not to be missed!
Château Thivin - Cuvée Godefroy 2018
3.9/5 (8 reviews)
18/20 RVF
-
17,5/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
17/20 Jancis Robinson
-
93/100 James Suckling
A plot-based cuvée from Château Thivin, Godefroy is a locality on the Côte de Brouilly, planted with old Gamay vines. It's a powerful, tannic wine with great depth. We find the very fruity, fine and delicate aromas typical of the appellation, right through to the beautifully persistent finish. A racy, authentic expression of the appellation.
