"A delicious Premier Cru, full of suppleness and harmony."
The Nuits Saint-Georges Les Cailles 1er Cru 2021 has a succinct nose, with 50% whole clusters neatly integrated into the red fruit, with hints of iodine that develop over time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very harmonious and velvety, with skillfully integrated oak leading to a surprisingly concentrated finish tinged with blueberry. One of Bouchard Père's pleasant surprises in this vintage." (Vinous 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)
About the estate:
From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this large Beaune-based wine merchant founded in 1731 owns more than 142 plots covering 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of premier and grand cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage enables Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds and carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.

About wine:
Aromas of red berries, rose petals, orange peel, and cinnamon introduce the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles 2021, a medium-bodied to full-bodied wine that is ample and fleshy, fluid and sensual, supported by lively acidity and ending with a salty finish.
