"A magnificent vintage with great aromatic complexity and beautiful balance."

Aged under veil for 6 years and 3 months, the Château-Chalon from Domaine Badoz has an intense nose with notes of walnut, green apple, and spices. Smooth and creamy, the palate is also full-bodied and harmonious.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

He represents the tenth generation of Badoz in Poligny. Trained at the Beaune wine school, he returned to the estate in 2003 and inaugurated the winery in 2004. It took him a while to switch to organic farming, but certification was obtained in 2019. The estate's vineyards are located in the Roussots and Grands Roussots areas. Half of the estate is planted with Savagnin, but that doesn't mean the reds should be overlooked. He pushes the barrel aging a little too far on some vintages.
