"Gold panning in the Jura"

"With its golden color and amber highlights, this straw wine first greets the nose with a hint of volatile acidity, but this quickly gives way to fruity notes of dried apricot and candied fruit. Full-bodied and warm, the palate is distinctive, with a solid aromatic palette that remains in the same fruity register. Looking for a treat in the middle of winter? Try it with a square of dark chocolate." (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

He represents the tenth generation of Badoz in Poligny. Trained at the Beaune wine school, he returned to the estate in 2003 and inaugurated the winery in 2004. It took him a while to switch to organic farming, but certification was obtained in 2019. The estate's vineyards are located in the Roussots and Grands Roussots areas. Half of the estate is planted with Savagnin, but that doesn't mean the reds should be overlooked. He pushes the barrel aging a little too far on some vintages.
