"A red wine with character"

With its intense garnet color, this Corbières wine, made from 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache, delivers powerful aromas of black fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, spices, licorice, and smoke after 12 months of aging in barrels. Full-bodied on the palate, it offers round, well-integrated tannins and a smooth texture. A full-bodied cuvée to accompany dishes with character.

About the estate:

Northwest of Lézignan-Corbières lies a vast estate (180 hectares) focused on export, acquired in 1987 by Anne-Marie and Guilhem Durand. It was the first of its kind in Languedoc-Roussillon. In 2015, it became the first in Languedoc to be acquired by a Chinese group, the importer BHC International Wine Assets Management. Close to Minervois, the vineyard is located on an ancient terrace of the Aude, rich in rounded pebbles.

Dark red color. Quite peppery and ripe nose. Don't hesitate to open 2 to 3 hours before tasting and decant. Exquisite with spit-roasted, glazed partridges...

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/28/2022

Dark red color with a very strong concentration of ripe black fruit aromas combined with notes of garrigue. The palate opens with the same powerful and warm intensity, and the same full-bodied and textured vigor, all enlivened by robust but rounded and silky tannins. The finish is equally exuberant, with hints of licorice and black pepper. Good aging potential. This masculine wine with a strong personality was enjoyed after an hour of decanting with caramelized Iberian pork, chorizo and red pepper cream, and Catalan-style risotto. Rating = 4.
