Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2018 guide) 16.5/20 (Reference wine)
3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Tannin in the sense of depth and delicacy, already well in place.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2018 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About the wine:
This cuvée reveals dark berry aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry) on the nose, the prelude to an intense, round palate with well-disciplined tannins.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated (2017 guide) 17/20 (Grand vin)
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Elegant and well-structured, Busardières delivers ripe fruit with a mellow breadth, admirable depth and harmonious proportions.
About the domain :
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie continue the work of thirteen generations at this historic Bourgueil estate with love and rigor. Here, Cabernet Franc is gently vinified to express the nuances of the sand, clay and limestone terroirs of the lower, mid and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously dressed in a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from bright red for Peu Muleau to deep purple for Grand-Mont. These absolute benchmarks of Bourgueil highlight the fine, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc, while at the same time displaying a magnificent suavity of texture. We salute the bottle ageing in the tuffeau cellars before release.
