Expert opinion

3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated 91/100 (Wonderful wine)
About the wine:
Bourgueil Peu Muleau 2018 comes from the top of the hillside and offers a lovely, fresh and aromatic bouquet, very intense, with stony terroir aromas intertwined with bright, transparent but ripe and concentrated aromas of black and red fruits, cherry and pepper. Round and fat on the palate, with soft, fine tannins, this is a supple, unctuous, warm and fleshy Cabernet Franc with a long, intense finish. Truly excellent.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 91/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
A sensation of fresh grapes enlivens this Cabernet, which is full-bodied and full of vitality. A delicious wine that doesn't suffer from the excess richness of its sunny vintage. Drink within five years.
About the domain :
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie continue the work of thirteen generations at this historic Bourgueil estate with love and rigor. Here, Cabernet Franc is gently vinified to express the nuances of the sand, clay and limestone terroirs of the lower, mid and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously dressed in a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from bright red for Peu Muleau to deep purple for Grand-Mont. These absolute benchmarks of Bourgueil highlight the fine, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc, while at the same time displaying a magnificent suavity of texture. We salute the bottle ageing in the tuffeau cellars before release.
