Château de Bellet
The Barons of Bellet founded the estate in the hills above Nice, their title having been granted in 1777 by the King of Sardinia. This family, originally from Savoy, gave its name to the appellation, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2011: one of the oldest A.O.C.s.

Between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps, Château de Bellet covers 10 hectares of organically farmed vines: natural grass cover, organic fertilizers, and rigorous soil cultivation. Similarly, no herbicides or insecticides are used.

The Château de Bellet vineyard is located between 200 and 300 meters above sea level and enjoys generous sunshine (2,700 hours per year). The sea and alpine winds provide the slow ripening process necessary for the freshness and elegance of Château de Bellet wines, giving them an almost northern character. The unique soil consists of puddingstone: Pliocene pebbles and very light sand interspersed with a few clay veins.
