"This dense, brilliant garnet wine bursts with youthfulness and vivid reflections. Intense, straightforward, and elegant, the fruit immediately comes to the fore, with notes of black cherry and slightly peppery blackcurrant. A superb attack, with fleshy fruit and licorice, opens onto a mid-palate offering great freshness and amplitude, supported by silky tannins. A harmonious and expressive whole." (Guide Hachette 2025)

About wine:
As for the red, it offers deep fruit and a smooth, creamy palate.
About the estate:
The Soulanes estate was created in 2002 by Cathy and Daniel Laffite in the Maury region. The couple had previously worked on these same terroirs for over ten years alongside the former owner before acquiring part of the property. The vineyards are located at the foot of the rocky peaks dominated by the Château de Queribus. The estate's wines are full-bodied yet balanced, energetic and intense.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 10/31/2024
At first glance, a Maury that is all fruit and sweetness, without lacking in amplitude and depth despite its youthful nature. Then, more specifically, a harmonious and sensual palate thanks to a well-balanced sweetness and very round, velvety tannins that bring out a wide range of delicious notes of burlat cherry, strawberry, and prune. A long, warm finish with subtle cocoa notes on the retro-olfaction. Before a Yule log, this Maury paired well with a warm, molten dark chocolate cake. Rating = 4.1.
