"Great finesse and complexity in the Schoenenbourg, whose fine saline imprint unfolds to accompany the dynamic, frank and firm structure of this very fine white. Great ageing potential to be expected. (Le Guide RVF 2023)

Expert opinion
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Vin noté (guide 2023) 95/100
Rated domain (2023 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning connoisseurs.)
About the wine :
Great finesse and complexity in the Schoenenbourg, whose fine saline imprint accompanies the dynamic, frank and firm structure of this very fine white. Foreseeable ageing potential.
About the domain :
Perfectionist Jean-Christophe Bott is one of Alsace's great winegrowers. He devotes himself to rigorous work in the cellar as well as in the vines, which are cultivated biodynamically. From just 4 hectares when it was founded in 1953, the estate now boasts 15, spread over seven communes. The wines here are full-bodied and suave, their richness well controlled, without the slightest hint of heaviness, particularly in the Pinot Gris, which absolutely must be rediscovered. Each cuvée possesses both power and length on the palate, two qualities that lead to fullness. To top it all off, the domaine offers slightly older vintages for sale, and has recently started renting out gîtes.

About the wine :
This imposing dry Riesling is still young at almost 4 years of age, with complex aromas of angelica, cardamom, candied lime, mirabelle plum and flint. Remarkable richness is wrapped in a firm mineral core. Long, compact finish that softens as it rolls across the palate. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. For drinking or cellaring.
