This parcel of less than 1 hectare of century-old vines on the slopes of La Bottière offers a wine of impressive ripeness and unctuous texture. Carefully aged in wood, it has intensity, richness and structure.

Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2020) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Winegrowers in Juliénas since the early 17th century, the Perrachon family bought Ch. de la Bottière in 1877, then Dom. des Perelles in Romanèche-Thorins (windmill). When Laurent Perrachon set up in 1989, he acquired Dom. des Mouilles, then parcels in Morgon, Fleurie and Saint-Amour: a total of 31 ha, with vines in six crus. With Maxime and Adrien, the new generation joined the domaine in 2016.

About the wine:
Deep purple in color, this wine has a fragrant nose of blueberry compote, raspberries, vanilla baking spices, blackberries and cinnamon. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, and pairs well with steaks, grilled poultry and vegetables.

Seems to be in the making, an interesting cuvée but not totally convincing. Lively on the palate, fresh and crisp, marked by incisive acidity. Slightly piquant, the generous texture of impressively ripe black fruit aromas, combined with fine toasted notes, accompanies the tasting of solid tannins, a touch sappy on the way to a clean, precise and intense finish. A priori, forgetting to cellar it until at least 2025, or even 2026, would be useful to allow time to refine its somewhat nervous character and integrate its tannins. Pairs well with a lamb's lettuce salad with chicken livers deglazed with sherry vinegar and enriched with pine nuts. Score = 3.6.

This time I'm disappointed because the taste is less typical of Beaujolais than the one I remembered. To be reviewed.
