James Suckling
"An undeniable success (Hachette)".
"Located on the border with the Juliénas cru, Côte de Besset offers a sandstone terroir for the estate's 60-year-old vines. The grapes were macerated for 8 days in whole bunches to deliver a wine of beautiful aromatic intensity, with notes of ripe red fruit, strawberry in particular, round and long on the palate. An undeniable success. (Guide Hachette 2025)

About the wine:
Located on the border with the Juliénas cru, Côte de Besset offers a sandstone terroir for the estate's 60-year-old vines. The grapes were macerated for 8 days in whole bunches to deliver a wine of fine aromatic intensity, with notes of ripe red fruit, strawberry in particular, round and long on the palate. An undeniable success.
About the domain :
On the borders of Burgundy and Beaujolais, this château takes its name from Sieur Bonnet, alderman of the town of Mâcon, who built a manor house here in 1630, where Lamartine later stayed. Acquired by the Perrachon family in 1973, the estate comprises 22 ha of vines. Pierre-Yves Perrachon, head of the estate since 1988, was joined in 2013 by his daughter Charlotte, a nologue. He has also joined forces with a winegrower from the Mâconnais region to complete his operation with a trading structure, Bourgogne Sélect.
