"This cuvée, vinified from whole bunches, comes from a 5-hectare terroir entirely cultivated by the Château and planted with vines that are around 60 years old. It seduces with its balance, length, and mineral character. It develops pure notes of fresh red fruits, particularly cherry and redcurrant. A complete and complex Chénas. (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

About the estate:
On the border between Burgundy and Beaujolais, this château takes its name from Sieur Bonnet, alderman of the town of Mâcon, who built a manor house there in 1630, where Lamartine later stayed. Acquired by the Perrachon family in 1973, the estate has 22 hectares of vineyards. Pierre-Yves Perrachon, who has been at the helm since 1988, was joined in 2013 by his daughter Charlotte, an oenologist. He has also partnered with a winegrower from the Mâconnais region to complement his estate with a wine merchant business, Bourgogne Sélect.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 04/11/2024
Fresh and juicy to perfection, Le Clos delights the palate with the spontaneity of its sparkling fruit and hints of spice, enhanced by a mineral structure that gives it a refined and lively style. It is supported by tannins that are still a little prominent, embellished by refined aging. The finish is decent and firm. It is already quite delicious and has great depth, although it would benefit from a little patience to gain in suppleness. This young Chénas paired well with a small salted dish with Puy en Velay lentils. Rating = 4.
