Heritage
The Patrimonio appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) is a Corsican appellation covering the Nebbio (fog) region. At the foot of Cap Corse, the Patrimonio appellation opens onto the Gulf of Saint-Florent, with its plains, hills, and valleys. Its dense network of rivers and ridges close it off to the east towards Bastia and to the south towards the Agriate desert

The Patrimonio AOC benefits from a particularly diverse terroir dating back to the Secondary, Tertiary, and Quaternary periods. The soils are clay-limestone, schistose, or granitic. The climate is Mediterranean: seasonal winds (such as the Maestrale and Libeccio) influence the vegetation, and the lowest areas of the basins are susceptible to frost. In addition, fog is very frequent, making the Patrimonio vineyards particularly susceptible to mildew.

The Patrimonio AOC produces red and rosé wines made mainly from the Nielluccio grape variety, and white wines made from Vermentino. The Yves Leccia, Clos Teddi and Giudicelli estates offer wines that are particularly representative of the quality and typical characteristics of the Patrimonio terroir.
