"Peter Sisseck himself declares that this vintage of Pingus is his favorite: an unforgettable tasting experience for one of the best wines in the world!"
"Tasting a new Pingus vintage for the first time is a special moment, and the 2022 Pingus has the softer profile of the vintage—it's fragrant, fruity, and punchy, with perfume and elegance. Peter Sisseck told me that this is his favorite vintage because it more closely matches his idea of what this wine should be. He compared it to 2000 ("a vintage under the radar," he told me) and 1996. The latter was aged exclusively in barrels; some vintages are aged for a period of time in 2,000- and 1,500-liter oak casks, which was the case for the 2021, 2020, and 2018, but not for the 2022. "I liked the evolution of the wine in barrel so much that I left it there the whole time," explains Mr. Sisseck. It is a young and tender wine, ripe and juicy, with some spicy notes, but with very good freshness and balance. About wine:
Tasting a new Pingus vintage for the first time is a special moment, and Pingus 2022 presents the softer profile of the vintage—it is fragrant, fruity, and peachy, with perfume and elegance. Peter Sisseck told me that this is his favorite vintage because it more closely matches his idea of what this wine should be. He compared it to 2000 ("a vintage under the radar," he told me) and 1996. "I liked the evolution of the wine in the barrel so much that I left it there the whole time," explains Mr. Sisseck. It is a young and tender wine, ripe and juicy, with some spicy notes, but with very good freshness and balance. Approximately 7,500 bottles of Pingus will be produced and are expected to be bottled in June/July 2024. 2026-2040

About wine:
Pingus 2022 confirms the potential of this exceptional vineyard in Ribera del Duero. From a slightly structured vintage, the old vines compensate with their elegance. Precise aromas of plum, a touch of cedar, black cherry, and delicate undergrowth unfold, followed by blood orange peel. The palate offers pure cherry with chalky tannins and a vibrant core that activates with finesse. Deep and expressive, the fruity length and subtle grip testify to its beautiful balance. Pingus remains a benchmark for the elegant Ribera. 2025-2050
