great wine

"Lots of aromas of rose petals, stems and sandalwood, as well as plums and berries. Medium-bodied, with a tight palate and very fine tannins that extend throughout the wine's length. Linear and concentrated. Notes of nutmeg and pastry enhance the palate. Accessible now, but needs three or four years to open up. Try it after 2026. long-keeping wine

"Fragrant and imbued with extraordinary finesse, this radiant red offers intense aromas of rose, violet, fragrant berries and camphor. The sumptuous palate offers flavor, energy and an almost airy elegance, with flavors of red cherry, raspberry compote and baking spices, as well as taut, polished tannins. It finishes on a note of star anise, while vibrant acidity keeps it impeccably balanced. It's already pleasing, but will also offer good ageing potential. Drink through 2033. (Wine Enthusiast 2021)

"A lovely red with aromas and flavors of ripe cherry, strawberry and flowers. Full-bodied and very tight, with a creamy, brilliant mouthfeel that lengthens on the finish. Very fine, polished tannins. Give it two or three years to harmonize further. Will be better after 2022. ( James Suckling 2020)

97/100 James Suckling

"The Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn 2016 is open, more concentrated and structured. There are lovely floral notes of rose hip or wild rose in this generous, broad wine. Here, we're talking about smaller fruits such as plums, blackcurrants, blackberries and lots of power. Everything has reached perfect ripeness in this 2016 vintage, representing that rare fusion of quantity and quality." (Wine Advocate 2019)

Gaja - Barbaresco Sori San Lorenzo 2016

-

99/100 James Suckling

"the 2016 Barbaresco Sorì San Lorenzo struts its stuff with volume and grandeur. It has a textured, firm body and is not as shy or reticent as the Costa Russi. [...] You get a stronger mineral note here with rust, just-sharpened pencil and loam intertwined with primary fruit, showing incredibly complex depth." (Wine Advocate 2019)
