"Corbières grande classe!"

"A top-of-the-range cuvée whose very long barrel ageing (24 months) has not dulled the aromas, quite the contrary. Very elegant, the nose declines blackberry, raspberry and peony on a finely wooded background. The same elegance characterizes the palate, which seduces with its fleshy texture, classy tannins and fruit that has digested the oak. Powerful, harmonious and ideal for laying down". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 15/20 (Very good wine)

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Robert Joyeux's career as an industrialist went hand in hand with extensive renovation work on the estate, enabling him to create the Corbières of his dreams, elegant and expressive of the complexity and variety of its terroirs. Since 2011, he and his wife Geneviève have devoted themselves full-time to their estate, and their son Hubert has just joined them to promote this fine cru to the four corners of the world. The estate has been certified organic since 2013, and the grapes are cared for to perfection. Gentle extractions, no crushing of the grapes and the use of gravity ensure generous yet refined and sincere wines. The cuvée Inédite has depth and staying power, while the cuvée numéro-1, exuberant and full of character, deserves its name. We were also seduced by the new Cuvée La Coume, tonic and fresh. White and rosé wines are delicious.

About the domain :

La Cendrillon? A locality in Ornaisons, at the foot of the Fontfroide massif, a former inn along the Roman road that linked the Narbonnaise region to Aquitaine. A native of the region, entrepreneur Robert Joyeux took over the family estate in 1993, and has spared no expense in investments: new plantations, and the construction of a winery. Today, the 42 ha estate has been certified organic since the end of 2012.
