Mas Champart
Mas Champart is an estate created in 1976 in Saint-Chinian, Languedoc, thanks to the determination of Isabelle Champart. Since then, the gradual purchase of old vines and abandoned terroirs, together with financial and human investment, have enabled Mas Champart to make the most of its 16-hectare vineyard. Today, the estate is in the capable hands of Nicolas Gaignon (Vignoble du Loup Blanc), who will continue the work undertaken and devote himself to new projects.

The Saint-Chinian soils on which the Mas Champart vines grow have a complex geology that creates a mosaic of terroirs: stony limestone plateaus, clay-limestone hillsides, cooler, wetter lower slopes. Mas Champart wines reflect and convey the richness, subtlety and diversity of these terroirs and grape varieties. As in the estate's early days, around a quarter of the harvest goes to the Saint-Chinian cooperative winery, with the remainder vinified on the estate. Mas Champart produces mainly AOC Saint-Chinian, with the exception of a "confidential" cuvée in Vin de Pays d'Oc. Mas Champart Saint-Chinian wines are produced in all three colors, blended from Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre for the reds, Marsanne, Roussanne, Bourboulenc or Grenache for the whites, and Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Syrah for the rosés.

"Gastronomic wine!

"More muscular, Causses du Bousquet delivers a spicy expression of Syrah, with a fresh, slender mouthfeel. The tannin support is well balanced, with notes of mocha, cedar and leather on the finish." (Le Guide RVF 2024). This refined, elegant cuvée never ceases to charm!

This white Saint-Chinian has a profile of finesse and aromatic complexity. The nose is very floral, with toasty notes in its youth, accompanied by plenty of freshness. A round white, with good volume on the palate and a mineral, saline finish. A lovely cuvée to enjoy with the whole family.

Clos de la Simonette brings together the estate's two terroirs. On the one hand, Grenache and Carignan on very stony limestone plateaus, and on the other, Mourvèdre on clay-limestone slopes. The wine is powerful, full-bodied and fine, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits and hints of garrigue. A great southern cuvée to match Mediterranean flavors!

"Gastronomic wine!

"One of the appellation's finest addresses, it justifies its rank with this cuvée born of the Causse and its very stony limestone". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins) This cuvée aged 24 months in oak asserts itself in a fleshy mouth, with incredible fruit and spices. Great character and finesse!

(2016 vintage notes)

On a deeper, cooler soil of clay and sandstone, this cuvée, with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Carignan, expresses its gourmet character. This full-bodied, round wine is ideal with terrine or pan-fried meat. Discover it for yourself!

(2015 vintage notes)

This rather complex Pays d'Oc wine reveals great elegance and liveliness. The Terret grape, combined with the more nervous Grenache gris, creates a balance on the palate between smoothness and mineral freshness. A true concentrate of pleasure!

This Saint-Chinian rosé is light and fresh, with a fruity, spicy character. It's a fresh, convivial wine, with a pearlescent quality that makes it a delight as an aperitif, but it's also very easy to pair with food. A must-have!

Mas Champart - VdP des Monts de la Grage - Viognier 2008

This vin de pays des Monts de la Grage is a single-varietal 100% Viognier, from vines planted in 1993 on a limestone plateau. Vinified 80% in vats and 20% in multi-wine barrels, it is aromatic, without heaviness, and retains the fine minerality of the estate's wines. Open with friends as an aperitif, or why not with seafood?
