A blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, the Cassis rosé reveals pleasant notes of peach, lychee and tangerine on the nose. On the palate, it's crisp, greedy and fresh, with a luscious, slender and lively feel, supported by a saline finish.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Purchased in 1997 by the Genovesi family and certified organic since 2014, the 17 hectares are located in the heart of the village of Cassis, overlooking the sea and the majestic Cap Canaille. The terraced vineyards face south-west, benefiting from a clay-limestone terroir and the influence of the sea. Today, Sébastien and his wife Lisa manage this little winegrowing gem and, under the watchful eye of the energetic Jean-Louis Genovesi, produce generous, tasty cuvées.

About the domain :
Archives mention the presence of vines as early as 1430 in this place called "Lobanhou", at the foot of Cap Canaille, the highest maritime cliff in France. Since 1997, Sébastien Genovesi has been managing this 23-hectare certified organic estate in the heart of Cassis, which was founded in 1884 by the Marquis de Fesques.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The Cassidain estate excels in the production of fragrant, iodized whites... but these are over the 20 euro mark. We'll stick with the rosé, which, without developing the intensity of the white, displays a southern profile with luscious fruit, good balance and fleshiness on the palate (La RVF n°682, July-August 2024).
About the domain :
The small (215 hectares) Cassis appellation has built its reputation on its whites of marsanne, clairette, pascal blanc and ugni. Few cuvées reflect the deep Mediterranean character expected of them. At Domaine du Bagnol, the Genovesi family is working to revive the image of this resplendent vineyard with more ambitious wines. Under Sébastien's impetus, the vines were converted to organic farming in 2014, and modern, precise winemaking enables us to chisel out straightforward, technically irreproachable wines. We're convinced that a touch more ripeness in the grapes would make the saline flavors and deep flesh of these wines resonate even more.
