Domaines Ott
The heart of Provence distilled in a bottle with Ott wines
Born of the passion of a young Alsatian agronomist, Marcel Ott, who at the end of the 19th century settled in the heart of the rolling, inspiring landscapes of Provence, Ott wine has been winning the hearts of the most discerning palates for over 100 years.
120 years of passion for excellence
When Marcel Ott settled on the land that would later become Domaine Ott, the region's vines were in poor condition. Phylloxera had stripped the warm, rich soil of Provence of its high-quality vines, which had to be replanted to gradually create new, delicate, warm flavors. 120 years later, the challenge has been brilliantly met. The Ott cousins, Christian and Jean-François, are now the worthy heirs of an enduring passion for wine, which they bring to life through a Domaine Ott wine in red, white or rosé, whose flavors and quality are unmistakable.
A trio of complementary fields
The wine production of the Ott estate is divided into 3 estates. Château de Selle, first acquired by Marcel Ott in 1912, is located in Taradeau, near the Abbaye du Thoronet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah share its arid, mineral soil. The average age of these vines is 19 years. Clos Mireille faces the Mediterranean, bathed in sunshine and sea breezes. Its limestone-free schist and clay soil gives rise to wines with delicate, refined tastes that will take you on a voyage between land and sea. Finally, Château Romassan, located in the Var region, has a hard, dry, sun-drenched soil rich in limestone, sandstone and marl. From this ungenerous cradle come particularly robust Bandol AOC wines of inimitable character. The estate's land, organized into small plots, is planted with Mourvèdre, but also with Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache, whose hardy vines live an average of 25 years.
The wines from these three estates have their own distinct identities, but share one thing: the bottle!
Domaine Ott wines
Domaine Ott wines are easily recognizable by their iconic bottle, created by Marcel Ott himself as early as 1930, and inspired by the ancient amphorae that kept wine fresh and thirst-quenching. This unique container holds elixirs to please every palate. Château de Selle produces AOC Côtes de Provence rosé and red wines. Domaine Ott's rosé wine is not limited to this one location; it is also present at Clos Mireille, where a fresh, supple rosé with citrus notes sits alongside a blanc de blanc with hints of broom. Château Romassan is the heart of a more robust, long-lasting production of red and rosé wines.
You'll also find Ott white, rosé and red wines, all BY O.T.T. products, special varietals from the new winery at Château de Selle.
Finally, let's not forget the Étoile, the Domaine Ott rosé par excellence, as it is the result of the original marriage of the 3 Ott estates. A union that shatters the conventions of viticulture to produce a unique rosé wine that explodes on the palate, sublimating the rigors of dry soils, Mediterranean winds, the aridity and sunny character of Provence, in unique and incredibly balanced aromatic notes. The perfect match!
