Domaine de la Mordorée
Domaine de la Mordorée is ideally located at the crossroads of Provence and Languedoc. Since the late 80s, Domaine de la Mordorée has been producing some of the finest vintages in the Rhône Valley, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac and Tavel. Following Christophe's tragic death, it is now Madeleine and Ambre Delorme, Christophe's wife and daughter, who run this 60-hectare vineyard with a philosophy based above all on respect: respect for people, respect for nature, respect for customers, respect for crops.

The Domaine de la Mordorée is run according to particularly rigorous, reasoned cultivation methods, in tune with nature and with the purest respect for the terroirs: grassing the rows, disbudding, leaf thinning and green harvesting are just some of the estate's essential practices. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand, before the wines are vinified and aged in a way that is both traditional and highly modern. The standard-bearers of their respective appellations, Domaine de la Mordorée wines have been acclaimed for many years by the specialist press, and regularly receive awards for their quality.

"A historic vintage and a great wine for laying down!

"The flagship Châteauneuf Du Pape cuvée La Reine Des Bois 2021 has a slightly deeper hue, with more blackberries and darker cherries, mixed with notes of grilled herbs, black licorice and peppery garrigue. It's concentrated and medium to full-bodied, with a solid structure and a lovely finish. I'd compare it to the crème de la crème of the vintage. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. "Strawberries are the real queen of this vintage!

"Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre for this red wine, of which only 15% of the juice was aged in barrel. On the nose, an explosion of fresh strawberry and blackcurrant, with a hint of cherry alcohol and cumin. The palate is dense, soft, fleshy and fruity, stretching out to a finely toasted finish, with just the right amount of acidity throughout. A Lirac of character". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2023)

"A flagship cuvée, majestically representing the whites of the South!"

"Made from 30% Grenache blanc, 20% Clairette and the rest other Rhône white grapes, this wine has delicate, tangy aromas reminiscent of Meyer lemon tart, lime and white peach. It is linear, revealing layers with time in decanter. Fresh almonds wrapped in lemongrass, citrus zest and light brioche form a complex palate. Its bite should contrast nicely with rich, buttery sauces." (Wine Enthusiast 2024)

"You'll be seduced by its minerality, red fruit and garrigue aromas!"

"Purer raspberry, minty flowers and chalky minerality define the aromas of Tavel La Dame Rousse 2023, and this beauty is medium to full-bodied, with a pure, structured and seamless palate, impeccable overall balance and an excellent finish. The blend is 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault and Syrah, and the rest Clairette, from a mix of three terroirs: pebbles, limestone and sand." (Jeb Dunnuck 2024)

"A sure bet with velvety tannins!

"Aromas of spiced cherries, wild berries and sweet spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Structured and textured, with a velvety midpalate. Balanced and harmonious, with a concentrated finish and excellent length. Made from Demeter-certified biodynamically grown grapes. Enjoy or keep. (James Suckling 2023)

"The Châteauneuf du Pape La Dame Voyageuse 2021 is a considerable success, given the difficulties of the vintage. It's 90% Grenache, but its fruit profile is perhaps a little redder than usual, with notes of cherry, raspberry and strawberry. It's medium to full-bodied, taut and crisp, but with silky tannins on the finish." (Wine Advocate 2023). A great Châteauneuf!

"Lirac haute couture

"Equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre make up this red wine, which is open to stewed red fruit, quetsche and sweet spices. Straightforward on the attack, the palate returns to berry fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) on a finish where the tannins show their muscles. Harmony and potential. "Flagship vintage

"The marriage of more than six white grape varieties, pellicular maceration and aging in stainless steel tanks with a touch of barrel (10% of the wine) have produced a Lirac of great purity, with a pale gold color, a nose of peach and acacia flower, and a slightly amylic palate, rich and long, carried by an aniseed freshness that ensures balance. Lots of charm and finesse". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022) A flagship cuvée possessing a set of exceptional qualities that represent the pinnacle of the estate's appellations and expertise.

"A most delicious introduction!

"Lovely ripe cherries balance generous, medium-dry tannins and lively acidity well. The alcohol adds a warm touch to the clean finish." (James Suckling 2022) This Côtes-du-Rhône opens the ball in the Domaine de la Mordorée range. A very fruity red, with aromas of violets and blackcurrants on the nose, with a great deal of elegance, and a palate that plays on finesse, with fine, melted tannins and good length.

"A safe bet

"Leading the 2018 vintage, Lirac La Dame Rousse 2018 is an equal blend of Grenache and Syrah aged entirely in stainless steel tanks. It's a more open and expressive wine than the more structured Reine des Bois; it has plenty of Provencal charm, passing through aromas and flavors of spicy red and black fruits, peppery garrigue and incense. It's already hard to resist this charming, medium-bodied 2018, which should drink well in about 4-5 years." (Jeb Dunnuck) A cuvée combining power and freshness that will delight fans of wines typical of the South!

"This red wine is delicious, with a frank nose of red berries that evolves into blackcurrant with aeration. "A new cuvée from the estate, Châteauneuf du Pape La Belle Voyageuse 2014 is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and a touch of Counoise and Vaccarese, aged mainly in stainless steel tanks and 15% of the blend in barrels. Due to the direct style of the vintage, this cuvée corresponds to a second wine and is produced in a more direct and seductive style than the more structured and serious Cuvée Reine des Bois. However, it is still a very fine cuvée in this vintage, offering young, jammy notes of blackcurrant, flowers, violets and graphite that match a full, fleshy palate. Intense depth on the mid-palate, with mellow tannins on the finish. Hard to resist. " (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)

"More pure, straightforward and elegant than La Belle Voyageuse, the Cuvée de la Reine des Bois 2014 is an encore to 2006 with its lovely fruit, full-bodied richness, concentration and length. Made from Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise and Vaccarese grapes, it goes through a 30-day maceration and aging in stainless steel tanks and barrels. This is a vintage to be enjoyed younger, but will still have 10-15 years of longevity." (Wine Advocate 2015- Robert Parker)

(2014 vintage notes)

A blend of multiple Mediterranean grape varieties, this rosé de saignée reveals luscious aromas of strawberry, cherry and citrus. Fresh, crisp and well-balanced on the palate.
