Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
The domaine offers expressive wines from the finest crus of the Vaucluse and Gard regions. Everything is done with the utmost respect for the terroirs, with the determination to produce wines worthy of their potential. Madeleine Delorme, accompanied by her daughter Ambre, carry on with great care and determination in the spirit of excellence that is the hallmark of the domaine and this winegrowing family. A superb range of saline, fleshy whites and deep, delicate reds, driven by thirst-quenching tension and fine balance. The domaine's style is increasingly racy and precise. The fourth star is fast approaching.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Created in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe, the 58-hectare estate (certified organic and biodynamic) is spread over 38 parcels and eight communes. Following Christophe's untimely death in 2015, his wife Madeleine and their daughter Ambre took over the reins of the estate. A firm believer in small yields, the Delorme family is equally at home with tavel, lirac, châteauneuf-du-pape and "simple" côtes-du-rhône. Not to be missed.

Domaine noté Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
A blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah aged in vats, Lirac la Dame Rousse 2021 easily combines notes of cherry and blueberry on the nose. The palate is medium to full-bodied, taut, with silky tannins and a long, peppery finish.

Wine rated (guide 2022 ) 15.5+/20
About the wine:
Tasted blind. Young, primary aromas - fresh paste, licorice. Good acidity with floral notes and dark berries hiding under a cloak of fine tannins. Good concentration of fruit that needs time to intertwine with the tannic weight but should integrate nicely.

Less sunny and less aromatic than the two previous vintages, La Dame Rousse 2021 nonetheless delivers a good Lirac with a full-bodied profile, as distinctive as ever, but nevertheless moderately greedy. The harmonious, supple and lively palate, with its acidic structure, conceals concentrated flavors of black plum, blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry, with hints of zan and vanilla in the background. Great finesse of grain backed by silky, still-taut tannins. Loose, refreshing finish with peppery notes. Clearly, it would be best to wait at least one more year for the "Lady" to relax a little. The price has also risen sharply in recent years. Served with royal couscous and harissa. Score = 3.8.

Middeldiepe ruby kleur. Score: 15+/20
