"A deep and persistent vintage that reveals all the charms of a great Syrah terroir."
"A textured, well-structured, and lively Côte-Rôtie with aromas of redcurrants, blackberries, roasted meat, and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Succulent with a pure character on the palate. Juicy red fruits with a delicate touch of spice. Textured and complex with great verve and precision. Vibrant and long finish." (James Suckling 2025)

About the estate:
Nestled in a small cul-de-sac in the heart of the village of Condrieu, Domaine Niero has only nine hectares of vines: four in Condrieu, two in Côte Rôtie, just over one in Saint-Joseph, and just under one in Crozes-Hermitage. There is also around one hectare dedicated to IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, both Syrah and Viognier. Although the clean and modern approach is undeniable, the wines are full of character and expressive of their different terroirs.

Rated estate (2024 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Since 2004, Rémi has been at the helm of this family estate, which boasts a beautiful range of terroirs in Condrieu, with 4 hectares divided into six plots. He also produces several Côte-Rôtie vintages from the Viallière and Bassenon terroirs, as well as a Saint-Joseph vintage, Bois Prieur, and another in Crozes-Hermitage. The wines are serious, rather classic, with sometimes a little aging that marks them during their youth.

About wine:
The Côte Rôtie Eminence 2023 reveals aromas of smoky black fruits, charcuterie, spices, and grilled herbs. This richly textured, medium-bodied to full-bodied, concentrated Côte Rôtie has solid tannins, a good mid-palate, and exceptional length. It reflects the ripe and concentrated style of the vintage while remaining well-balanced.
