Eric Janin, the current owner, represents the fourth generation. He has inherited a succession of investments that have made the domaine such a success. In 1937, his grandfather bought the famous Tremblay vineyard, and in 1967, his father acquired what is today the estate's flagship cuvée: the century-old Greneriers vines. Éric Janin is also the father of young Perrine, who is studying oenology, and in turn continues to invest in the long-term future of the estate. In particular, this involves massal selections to gradually renew his stock of old vines. Difficult years are piling up for the cru, and Éric Janin has not escaped the violent hailstorms that have devastated the vineyards over the last three years. In order to preserve what has built the estate's reputation, the range is now completed by purchases from the negociants. Of a more classic standing, these wines are of good quality. As for the estate's stars, they suffer from low quantities but do not disappoint in terms of quality. In 2018, vignes-du-tremblay and greneriers are magnificent successes.","Burgundy Today","Rated area (2022 guide) Recommended","RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France","Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).","The location and age of the vines aren't everything.
