Note: Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins à Petits Prix 16/20
The vineyards of this cru flourish on 320 hectares of steep, well-exposed slopes of Mont Brouilly. A terroir of unique homogeneity in Beaujolais, composed of blue granite and schist. The Gamay grape gives an elegant, fleshy, well-balanced wine, developing notes of black fruit and licorice with a subtle hint of minerality. A must-try!

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine noté (guide 2014) Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)

About the domain :

"Christophe Coquard founded his own trading company in 2005. He offers a range of wines covering every appellation in Beaujolais, and more recently in neighboring Mâconnais. The labels are attractively decorated, and prices remain reasonable. The house didn't present its 2008s as we'd asked, but 2009s with a more flattering reputation. In this vintage, several crus disappointed us, but the regional appellations shone with fruit.
