"Franck Chavy's cuvée is representative of the best that Beaujolais has to offer, thanks to exceptional climatic conditions and terroir, but above all to the perseverance of this perfectionist at heart. Long maceration (20 days), ageing in three different volumes of oak barrels [...]: All the creativity of this passionate technician is expressed in this Morgon 2017. Here, the Gamay grape really comes into its own with subtle ageing. Result: Aromas of small black fruits preceding notes of spices (wild anise, pepper, mocha) that charmed the jury's tasters". About the domain :
Son and grandson of winegrowers, Franck Chavy set up in 1991 with a few hectares of Morgon. Through buyouts and sharecropping, he has expanded his estate to 9.5 ha, while at the same time making his mark in the Guide, where he is a sure bet. This success is undoubtedly due to his high vine density (10,000 vines/ha) and long maceration periods.
