The first cuvée produced by Clos Perdus, 171 has since evolved and found its identity. This blend of southern grape varieties gives the wine a distinctive structure: Carignan for freshness, Grenache for richness on the palate, and Mourvèdre for intensity and complexity. A cuvée that strikes a balance between acidity and ripe fruit extraction.

Wine rating (2021 guide) 89/100 (2018 vintage)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Paul Old cultivates these old vines between Corbières and Roussillon using biodynamic methods. The minimalist approach in the cellar produces some high points (Prioundo and L'Extrême, in white) but also some low points, with gas saturation in certain vintages and sometimes a lack of clarity. However, the wines age well and benefit from aeration.

A very well-made wine with a complex nose of black fruits and figs. The acidity on the finish lifts the palate.
