Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 94/100
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A little saltier than Spiegel, more taut and straightforward, with a root-like nuance in the fragrances, a lovely style, this wine is spicy (literally) and will evolve well.
About the domain :
An emblematic Bergholtz estate for two generations now. The 18 hectares of biodynamic vineyards are the result of the union of Jean Dirler and Ludivine Cadé. In the range, the fine terroirs of Saering, Kitterlé, Kessler and especially Spiegel have great ageing potential, allowing the slight residual sugars to melt away.

Rated wine (guide 2021 ) 95/100 Favorite
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Finely exotic on the nose, the Saering is bursting with energy, offering gourmet chewiness and dry extract: its density and depth enthrall us.
About the domain :
Sensitive and experienced winemakers, Jean Dirler and his wife Ludivine are at the helm of this estate, founded in 1871, handed down from father to son for five generations, and biodynamic since 1998. Whatever the grape variety, the precision of the wines, their density and maturity have never been better: an impressive range of great dry white wines culminates in the magnificent expressions of the Spiegel, Saering, Kessler and Kitterlé grands crus, which must be discovered, and which are now named after the four elements (fire, air, earth, water). This too discreet house offers a remarkable welcome, and many wines are available in older vintages.

An attractive, fresh nose of melon and white peach, with a floral touch too. The palate features vibrant lime and grapefruit flavors, with a punchy, consistent mouthfeel. Made from organically grown grapes. For drinking or cellaring.
