Joseph Drouhin - Pommard 2018

Joseph Drouhin - Pommard 2018

Pinot Noir
harmonious
class

A great Burgundy that lives up to its reputation. An intense, bright red color, a powerful nose with hints of black cherry and spices that evolve into notes of new leather. On the palate, the tannins give a certain impression of firmness, softened by a harmonious richness. A beautiful aromatic persistence.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

This house is now run by Frédéric Drouhin, assisted by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe for the vines. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and is establishing itself as a sure bet. The house relies on a biodynamic vineyard that is particularly well endowed with great whites, in Côte-de-Beaune but also in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
