Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

Victor and Vincent Lebreton are faithful interpreters of Coteaux-de-l'Aubance. The brothers took over the family estate in 1986 and now cultivate 60 hectares of vines on different plots and types of schist. The result is parcel-based cuvées with subtle tonalities, reflecting the resonance of blue schists (le-tertereaux), greys (clos-des-huttières) or purples (le-clos-prieur). A friendly address, with low prices. Logically, the range is at its best on the Aubance. The reds are simple and tasty, for immediate pleasure.

About the domain :

This estate on the outskirts of Angers is a benchmark in the region, particularly in terms of "Angevine sweets", with superb coteaux-de-l'aubance on the menu. Vincent Lebreton, who has been at the helm since 1995, runs the estate created by his grandfather, Victor, and developed by his father, also Victor, in a highly integrated way. He manages 75 hectares of slate schist terroir. The sixth generation now supports him.
