Dauvergne Ranvier
Dauvergne Ranvier is the association of two enthusiasts who, after a wealth of professional experience in major wine companies, decided to create their own cuvées. In 2004, François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier made their dream come true: to create their own wines and make their house one of the most recognized in the Rhône Valley.

With no vineyard, no cellar, and no great financial resources, they forge close links with several Rhône Valley winegrowers. In exchange for their advice and an incentive payment, Dauvergne and Ranvier select the best plots of vines from these winegrowers, who work them according to their specifications and on their behalf. Everything is reviewed: pruning, weeding, disbudding... in a precise and pragmatic way. In this way, the entire wine-making process is rigorously determined and monitored by Dauvergne et Ranvier.

Wine range Dauvergne Ranvier is divided into four families: Vins Gourmands: fruity and fresh, they easily express the appellation's frank, accessible flavors in their youth; Grands Vins: more serious and concentrated, they are surprising in that their quality and ageing potential exceed the standards of each appellation; Vins Rares: more confidential, produced at very low yields, they concentrate in their juice all the flavors that can be found in each terroir; and Sélections Parcellaires: small selections, each with its own strong personality: more confidential, produced at very low yields, they concentrate in their juices all the flavors that can be found in each terroir, and Les Sélections Parcellaires: small selections, each with its own strong personality, found only in wine shops or fine restaurants.

Dauvergne Ranvier - Gigondas Grand Vin 2022

"A Gigondas that calls for sharing".

"Powerful, infused with dark berries and malty notes, the singular nose bears the hallmark of 18 months' barrel ageing. This is reflected in a full-bodied, heady, well-structured palate, tautened by a fine saline note that retains just the right amount of freshness. A promising balance that doesn't forget gourmandise, as is often the case with this inspired wine merchant". (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

"This dark purple cuvée promises to be serious. The nose confirms this impression of richness: blackcurrant, licorice and notes of vanilla and mocha make up a complex bouquet. The palate is full-bodied, very dense, marked by concentrated fruit (blueberry, blackberry) which nevertheless brings a lovely freshness, and is endowed with tannins that are still a little clinging. A youthful sin due to recent barrel ageing, which should soon be forgotten. A Saint Joseph with a strong character". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

"A top-quality Côte-Rôtie at the right price".

The estate's flagship cuvée, Face Sud has also become a Côte-Rôtie staple. Velvety, with floral notes and great tannic elegance, it charms with its depth and intensity. A remarkable wine to be forgotten for a few years before appreciating its full beauty. At this price, it's not for everyone.

"A surprising Gigondas

"We're definitely in the garrigue here, with blackberries and raspberries raspberries and, as the cuvée's name suggests, the freshness of north-facing vines. north-facing vines." (Le Monde - May 24, 2019) The challenge for the great southern winemakers is not to get ripe grapes but to balance the richness of their berries with a beneficial freshness. We've done that, and done it well, with this Gigondas from parcels facing north. Once scorned, these vines are now showing their strengths. Aired by the cool, dry Mistral wind, they are protected from disease and allow slow ripening, producing aromas of great purity. aromas. The ideal companion for all your meals!

(2013 vintage notes)

This cuvée parcellaire de Luberon blanc is the first to be produced by François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier. It combines the freshness of Rolle and Clairette with the structure and fullness of Grenache blanc. A rather large Pitchounette, with its expression of white stone fruits and lemony notes, which will find its place in your aperitifs, with seafood risotto or zucchini flower fritters.

From high-altitude plots, Terres Extrêmes expresses freshness with a very Provencal character. The nose of tapenade and garrigue is reminiscent of ancient olive-growing terroirs. On the palate, the fruit is concentrated, with good acidity and smooth tannins. A warm wine, without heaviness. A real success!

"Intense and greedy from the first nose, this cuvée combines red fruits, spices and coriander. Following the same aromatic line, the palate offers a fine balance of tannin-alcohol-freshness that allows this wine to already be appreciable, while being able to look to the future with serenity." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016) A great bottle, produced at low yields on the high slopes of the appellation. Serve in season with a fine game dish, or cellar for 5-6 years.
