"What flavors with this colorful vintage!"
One-third each of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache are used in this cuvée, which smells of leather, pepper and red fruits in brandy. Full-bodied, generous and round on the palate, infused with ripe fruit and licorice, with fine tannins on the long finish". (Le Guide Hachette 2023)

About the wine:
One-third each of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache are used in this cuvée, which smells of leather, pepper and red fruits in brandy. The palate is ample, generous and round, infused with ripe fruit and licorice, and sustained by fine tannins.
About the domain :
The origins of the estate, where 6 generations have succeeded one another, date back to 1864. The estate boasts a 25-hectare vineyard planted on a variety of terroirs. Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been at the helm of the estate since 1989, and for almost 30 years they have been producing wines with strong personalities, both dry and vins doux naturels. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young winemaking couple, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.

About the wine:
Dense core with a purple hue. Pure and fragrant, with notes of pepper and dry spices combined with ripe wild berries and plums. The palate shows maturity and desenity but remains within a medium-bodied, digestible framework with a good sense of freshness, round extract and a long, savory finish.

Strength, opulence and eloquence all at once on the palate, with a juicy, rich flesh that fuses red fruits, sweet spices and a touch of zan, framed by a tannic structure of restrained power and stretched into a long, silky finish, full of fine freshness. A wine in its youth with good ageing potential. Its robust character and lovely roundness were already at their best with pan-fried Catalan pig spiders and chorizo piperade. Score = 4.
