"After 24 days' maceration and 9 months' barrel ageing, it's normal to find a very deep garnet color, and above all a certain aromatic timidity before aeration. After an initial touch of wood, tapenade, very ripe cherry and blackcurrant appear with great intensity. Red fruit then asserts itself on a palate of elegant, soft, melted, balanced tannins. A wine to be waited for after opening for its full expression". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2024)

About the domain :
The origins of the estate, where 6 generations have succeeded one another, date back to 1864. The estate boasts a 25-hectare vineyard planted on a variety of terroirs. Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been at the helm of the estate since 1989, and for almost 30 years they have been producing wines with strong personalities, both dry and vins doux naturels. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young winemaking couple, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.

About the wine:
Magnificent nose, with a seductive oxidative touch of crushed cherry and kirsch. On the palate, amarena cherry, bitter chocolate, medjool date. A deep, complex wine (Revue RVF n° 672 - July-August 2023).
