"After 24 days of maceration and 9 months of barrel aging, it is normal to find a very deep garnet color and, above all, a certain aromatic timidity before aeration. After an initial hint of wood, tapenade, very ripe cherry, and blackcurrant emerge with beautiful intensity. Red fruits then impose themselves on the palate with elegant, soft, mellow, balanced tannins. This is a wine that needs to be allowed to breathe after opening to fully express itself." About the estate:
The origins of the estate, which has been passed down through six generations, date back to 1864. The property boasts a 25-hectare vineyard planted on a variety of terroirs. At the helm since 1989, Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been producing wines with strong personalities for nearly 30 years, including both dry wines and naturally sweet wines. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young couple of winemakers, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.
