Domaine Chiroulet
Visit Domaine Chiroulet is a family estate that has seen six generations work for 150 years to improve the products of a beautiful terroir. Situated on the highest slopes of Gascony, at an altitude of 180 meters, the Domaine Chiroulet owes its name to the wind that whistles "Chiroula" in the local dialect. It is now run by Michel Fezas and his son Philippe.

The Vignoble du Domaine Chiroulet comprises 40 ha of vines on a rugged, generous terroir: a clay-limestone bedrock, with some plots dominated by fine clay, reminiscent of the Saint-Emilion hillside. This is the preferred territory for Merlot, the basis for the Domaine Chiroulet red for 50 to 60%. It gives the wines their red fruit flesh and intense bouquet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Tannat add finesse, freshness and structure. These grape varieties are blended early, in November, and matured in oak barrels for around 12 months.

"Pure red fruit, nicely vanilla-flavored. The intense nose certainly appealed. The palate is not to be outdone: balanced, full-bodied, structured by tannins that are present but under control. A perfect match for prime rib or Roquefort-type cheese". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022). Everything you'd expect from a good "Gascon" wine!

With its bright, limpid color, La Côte d'Heux is an intense, fruity white evoking exotic fruits such as mango. Complexity, character and fatness dominate the palate, resulting in a powerful, expressive wine. Best served with roast free-range poultry, for example...

Pale color with brilliant highlights. A nose of white fruit flesh, citrus, pineapple and wild flowers. On the palate, it develops a deliciously acidic freshness. You'll love its fruity flesh. The archetypal wine for immediate, refreshing pleasure.

16/20 Bettane & Desseauve

"This pure Petit Manseng, harvested in early winter, has an exquisite truffle nose. On the palate, it's beautifully liqueur-like and candied, with notes of white truffle and a healthy freshness. The best liquoreux in its category". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France). A very typical, lively wine, with a fine balance between acid and sugar, and lovely length, with a delicately woody finish. A cuvée to be reserved for desserts...

Domaine Chiroulet - Terra Nostra 2008

"The estate's most accomplished cuvée, luxuriously aged, displays initial vanilla notes that fade with aeration. The whole is pleasant, with rounded tannins and a supple, juicy structure. Decant and serve with red meat". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2014)
