Jean-Claude Lapalu - Brouilly Vieilles Vignes 2023
90/100 James Suckling
Discover a wine with aromas of blackberries, grilled peel, lemon pulp and dried flowers. A lovely Gamay to serve with veal colombo, pork filet mignon with prunes or as an aperitif with a charcuterie board.
Jean-Claude Lapalu - Beaujolais Villages Vieilles Vignes 2023
5/5 (1 review)
92/100 James Suckling
This Beaujolais-Villages Vieilles Vignes comes from vines planted high up on sandy, granitic, mid-slope soil, favoring rapid ripening - certainly the earliest ripening area in Beaujolais. Vinification using whole bunches of grapes takes on its full meaning, so that this cuvée expresses the fruit and complexity of the little corner of this land on which it grew.

Jean-Claude Lapalu - Tentation 2021
3.3/5 (3 reviews)
94/100 James Suckling
Grapes, more grapes, always grapes, without any additions (yeast, chaptalization or sulfur), avoiding any interventions in order to convey all the purity and character of the terroir to this wine. Tentation gives the impression of an easy wine, but in fact it's full of complexity and finesse, with a hint of powder also provided by this year's Syrah. A subtle, racy wine for connoisseurs.
Jean-Claude Lapalu - Côte-de-Brouilly rouge 2020
4.6/5 (8 reviews)
92/100 Vinous
Still made from a living soil, this time a volcanic terroir called Pierre Bleue de Brouilly, this Côte de Brouilly stands out with its dark color and intense notes of ripe black fruit, blackcurrant and spices. The freshness and minerality of the terroir combine to give maturity, depth, texture, balance and length to this great Beaujolais wine.
Jean-Claude Lapalu - Eau Forte 2021
3/5 (1 review)
A mid-range cuvée, Eau Forte is also one of Jean-Claude Lapalu's latest creations. Slightly pearly on opening, this wine, extracted from vines that produce a lot of juice, expresses pure fruit, dense juice and structure. A refreshing, complex cuvée of character that flows naturally.
