Called Vin de Pays des Portes de la Méditerranée until 2007, theIGP Méditerranée becomes official at European level in 2009. 

This vast appellation covers the south-east quarter of France, including Corsica. The IGP Méditerranée vineyards are characterized by their relief, their varied climates and the diversity of their mainly local grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Vermentino/Rolle, Caladoc...).

To date, there are 267 players in this Protected Geographical Indication: 78 cooperative wineries, 153 estates and 36 merchants.
