Château Bouscassé
Château Bouscassé, located in the South-West region, close to the towns of Pau and Tarbes and facing the Pyrenees, is one of the Alain Brumont vineyards, along with Châteaux Montus. The vineyard formed by these two properties covers 180 hectares in the Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic Bilh and Côtes de Gascogne appellations.

Alain Brumont, at the head of the estates, made many changes and achieved what no one had done before him: choosing the best plots for each grape variety, replanting with the best grafts, doubling the number of vines per hectare to increase their potential tenfold, reducing yields and adapting fermentation to each grape variety. He was also the first in the appellation to age his wine in new barrels.

Château Bouscassé wines, and more broadly the Brumont brand, are today considered to be an up-and-coming, original label with a unique concept and style. With wines improving every year, Alain Brumont's aim is no longer to remain in the "club" of the top 100 winemakers, but to compete among the top 20 or 30 winemakers worldwide.

"A fine wine for laying down, to be enjoyed with an excellent duck breast... "

"A magnificent Alain Brumont wine that is still young. Deep in dark Tannat flavors and dense structure, the wine is powerful with its black fruit and texture. Smoky, ripe, the wine's barrel aging is intended to smooth and give depth as it matures. Drink from 2026. (Wine Enthusiast 2022)

"The prize goes to this inky, violet-hued Vieilles Vignes cuvée, with its intense, complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and toasty nuances. A supple attack is followed by a slow build-up to a long, highly aromatic, generous and fleshy palate, structured by silky, liquorice tannins. An exceptional Madiran, ideal for grilled red meat or duck breast, but at least five years from now". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2010)

"Remarkable substance, firm tannin, wood present but integrated, great expression of terroir, great future." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2014). An old vine with delicate aromas, with notes of discreet wild berries, cigar and mocha. The tannat provides a fine, intelligent structure on the straightforward palate. Delivery in wooden case for orders delivered in France of 6 bottles of this wine.

Château Bouscassé - Les Larmes Célestes 2011 (Doux)

Les Larmes Célestes is a special, original cuvée of mellow Pacherenc from a second selection, when the three stages of the harvest do not meet Alain Brumont's criteria. A highly aromatic wine, with discreet sweetness thanks to the rich acidity that polymerizes the sugars... The whole Gascon country in your mouth!

"Dark, almost black, announcing a concentrated, intense nose that blends roasted, meaty notes with spices (pepper, cinnamon) and ripe black and red fruit. The palate is full-bodied, silky and velvety. A perfect echo of the bouquet, it reveals a toasty woodiness that blends perfectly with the fruit, enhanced by spices and licorice". Cuvée Frimaire is only produced in exceptional vintages, such as 2000, and is harvested in December from the best terroirs. A great liquoreux for laying down, very rich, complex and buoyed by its acidity. A true pleasure to be savored now!
