Chambolle-Musigny
The appellations d'origine contrôlée Chambolle-Musigny and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru are communal appellations in the Côte de Nuits, in the Côte d'Or department, recognized since 1936. There are 24 climats classified as Premier Cru. The commune of Chambolle-Musigny also produces two Grands Crus: Musigny and Bonnes Mares. As is often the case in Burgundy, the appellations Chambolle-Musigny and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru may or may not be followed by the name of their original climat.

The Chambolle-Musigny vineyard covers some 152 hectares, 56 of which are Premier Cru, and is situated at an altitude of between 250 and 300 meters facing east, on clay-limestone soils with gravel for good drainage.

The Chambolle-Musigny appellation produces exclusively red wines from one of Burgundy's flagship grape varieties: Pinot Noir. Chambolle-Musigny wines offer a powerful yet feminine profile, with elegance and finesse. Wines from Domaine Joseph Drouhin, Domaine Leroy, Domaine Faiveley, Domaine Perrot-Minot or Domaine Antonin Guyon reveal these characteristics perfectly.

"An exemplary style

"Revisited in bottle, Jadot's 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Drazey (Domaine Gagey) presents very well indeed, offering aromas of cherries and wild berries, complemented by notes of raw cocoa, rosehip and warm spices. Medium-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with good concentration, lively acidity and structured, velvety tannins, it is deep and elegantly fleshy, finishing with a minerality." (Wine Advocate 2021)

"A wine of lace and silk!"

"Fragrant with more obvious appeal than the Clos des Mouches Rouge. Lots of fruit, but also lots of acidity, structure and interest. Very good result" (Jancis Robinson 2023)

"Elegance and precision, all in balance".

"This wine's nose already hints at its graceful balance of fruit and spice. A sophisticated intensity of crushed cherry, cranberry and pomegranate is presented on a linear palate, with a deep core of perfectly ripe red berries and a touch of salinity that speaks to its precision and ripeness." (Wine Enthusiast 2023)

This Chambolle-Musigny has an expressive bouquet, with notes of red berries accompanied by a very light, pleasing woody note. Tender and delicate, this wine is appreciated for its finesse and touch on the palate, as well as for its perfect balance. A must-try!

Louis Jadot - Chambolle-Musigny 2017

A village of great renown despite its small size, Chambolle Musigny owes its reputation to the quality of its wines and the renown of its premier crus. The terroir of choice influences the supple, delicate structure of this silky wine with a unique character. Incomparable class!

Beautiful, brilliant garnet-red colour. Very pretty nose with woody and fruity notes. The whole is pleasant. Grilled and fruity aromas (ripe cherries) on the palate. The tannins are present without being overpowering or aggressive. An elegant, fine and distinguished wine.

"Dark chocolate and cocoa rub shoulders with notes of black cherry on the nose of this wine. This chocolate-cherry blend continues on the silky palate, where it is joined by brightness and depth of flavor. Remarkable freshness highlights the sinuous curve of the fruit." (Wine Enthusiast 2020) A racy wine!

great wine

"In a firmer style than les-fuées, Les Sentiers are structured around a present, dynamic tannin." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) At the foot of the Bonnes-Mares, "Les Sentiers" inherits the racy vigor associated with a satiny texture that takes its time to reveal itself. A premier cru that likes to age harmoniously, with its strong tannins that evolve gracefully and its alert vivacity. A synthesis of strength and delicacy.

Often described as the Côte de Nuits' most"feminine" appellation, Chambolle-Musigny here displays intensity and finesse with elegant subtlety. Rich, bouqueted and complex, it coats the palate with silk and lace. Its fleshy delicacy does not prevent it from retaining a solid, long-lasting structure. Quite mellow, with little acidity, its tannins remain caressing.

René Bouvier - Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes 2017

15,5/20 Bettane & Desseauve

" Already sensual, it should be drunk soon enough to enjoy its innate charm." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) From old vines over 60 years old, this cuvée is aged 18 months in barrel. It offers aromas of tart red berries. The palate is voluminous and flavorful, with well-marked tannins and a structured, slightly spicy finish.

Cité Hachette

"A blend of blackcurrant and violet lends an elegant tone to the aromatic expression of this Chambolle, which has spent fourteen months in barrel. The palate is inviting, tender and round, even if the tannins are still a little angular, making the finish more austere at this stage. A little waiting will smooth things out". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

Domaine de la Pousse d'Or - Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes 2013

91-93/100 Robert Parker

"The 2013 1er Cru Les Feusselottes reveals a more reserved, masculine nose than the 2013 Chambolle Charmes, opening with difficulty to reveal aromas of orange and black cherry. The palate is very silky on the attack, with wood dominating somewhat for the moment, though the fruit is nonetheless very present. The mouthfeel is long and tender. The energy and structure suggest that this wine will be enjoyable for the next 20 years." (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker)

Note du Guide Hachette des Vins : 2**(Vin remarquable) + Coup de Coeur
"Charmes is a beautiful, sparkling ruby color, with a flattering, ripe nose of Morello cherry in alcohol and undergrowth, and a hint of saltiness. This invigorating note is echoed in a palate of great finesse, clean, silky, airy and sufficiently structured to withstand long cellaring (eight to ten years). A true chambolle. Only one flaw: its confidentiality". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

A new vintage, the 2008 was rated: Bettane & Desseauve 16/20
Chambolle Musigny is a village located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits between Gevrey Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot. Here, he delivers a wine with very pure aromas of red fruits (raspberries) and hints of liquorice mixed with spices. A very long finish...
