Valencia
Valencia is the Denominación de Origen (DO) created in 1932 for wines from the Valencia region of Spain. The appellation is divided into four production zones: the Valentin, corresponding to the land that rises progressively inland from the sea; the Alto Ruria, located to the west of the Valentin and corresponding to a plateau culminating at an altitude of 625 meters; the Moscatel, located to the west of the city; and the Clariano, a zone isolated from the others and bordered to the north by the city of Valencia, and to the south by the city of Xàtiva.

The grape varieties used to make Valencia wines are numerous, both local and foreign. Red wines are made from Monastrel, Grenache , Syrah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Bobal. White wines are blended from varieties such as Merseguera, Malvasía, Moscatel, Macabeo, Forcayat, Sémillon, Tortosí or Verdil.

TheValencia appellation, influenced both by the warm, dry Mediterranean climate and the altitude of some of its vineyards, offers an interesting diversity of white and red wines. Enthusiasts will be delighted by the wines offered by any of the 87 wineries, including Bodegas El Angosto and Blackboard Wines.

With its limpid, brilliant appearance, La Traca white is just as explosive as the red: intense, enveloping aromas of pineapple, peach and other stone fruits, accompanied by floral notes, emerge in the glass, with a gentle attack on the palate. This is a fruity, long-lasting cuvée that will sublimate your sardines, for example...

As its name suggests, La Traca is an explosive cuvée, a veritable fruit bomb! In Spanish, "la traca" means a firecracker, the final bouquet of a fireworks display, and this cuvée is its very expression. A wine to share with friends and family.

"A real fruit bomb!"

"The Soplo 2020 is a young Garnacha with some 10% Monastrell and Forcalla and moderate alcohol (13.7%). It was fermented with 20% whole bunches in stainless steel with gentle vinification and aged in oak vats for 12 months. It has a brilliant ruby color and a fragrant, expressive nose, young, blending fruit and flowers, elegant and with a fresh palate with very fine tannins, great texture and very concentrated, clean flavors. Superb. Excellent value too. " (Wine Advocate 2022)

"Attractive notes of small ripe black berries and black cherries wrapped in a complexity of cake spice flavors. This is a succulent, beautifully juicy wine with good concentration and skilful notes of ripe plums on the finish. Organically grown grapes. To be enjoyed over the next ten years". (James Suckling)

"It has a serious, rather classic nose, with integrated oak and berry fruit, and is restrained. The palate shows great balance, fine tannins and lovely freshness, easy to drink overall, but capable of accompanying a dish. Quite impressive and very good value for money. "Los Pinos 0%, which takes its name from the fact that no sulfite is added, doesn't have the profile of the usual "natural" wines. On the contrary, the nose is rather clean, if not grandiose. This is a blend of Grenache, Monastrell and Syrah, harvested together and fermented in cement vats with their indigenous yeasts, then aged for eight months. It has a nose of black fruit, ripe without excess, and the palate is balanced with round tannins, good acidity and a very tasty, slightly chalky finish." (Wine Advocate 2016 - Robert Parker)

"It's a good thing they didn't uproot this vineyard and that Rafael Cambra is showing us this interpretation of a very aromatic, subtle and floral varietal, with an almost imperceptible impact from the eight months spent in 500-liter French oak barrels. There's something different here, a wild note. The palate is very fresh, with a silky texture, very elegant, tasty and long. It's not only unique, it's superb. Very, very impressive! "

With its distinctive Mediterranean style, this Valencia gives off spicy aromas of sandalwood, truffles and violets. The expression of each of the grape varieties used can be found in this warmly nuanced cuvée. The woodiness is supportive, not overpowering the silky, melting texture of the tannins. A wine full of sunshine!
