Château des Estanilles
The vineyards of Château des Estanilles extend over 35 hectares of vines cultivated with great rigor and respect, in certified organic agriculture since 2010, on the hills of the Faugères appellation. The vines are cultivated without weedkillers or chemical fertilizers, using traditional ploughing and organic soil improvers to keep the soil alive and encourage deep rooting. The wines are low in acidity, full of ripe fruit and spice, pleasant to drink, with a fine tannic structure, but with great finesse, velvet and elegance.

1*Étoile Hachette
"The 18 months in barrel leave their mark on this almost pure Syrah, with a toasty, vanilla nose and a background of black fruits. Present on the palate but not overdone, the ageing has nicely coated the fine, firm tannins that support the ample, greedy flesh and remarkable freshness. This red has plenty of depth and potential, and will be forgotten for a few years in the cellar". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)

14/20 Bettane & Desseauve
"A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre aged in foudre, this 2015 Faugères offers many notes of saddle leather, peppery herbs, lavender and shale like minerality to accompany a core of black fruit, medium to full-bodied richness and plenty of texture. It has exceptional potential and drinks well in its youth." (Wine Advocate - Jeb Dunnuck) Planted on high-density sandstone schist soils, the southern grape varieties (Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache) deliver a Southern wine at heart!
Château des Estanilles - Le Clos du Fou 2016
3.6/5 (9 reviews)
1*Étoile Hachette
"This dark-colored cuvée owes almost everything to Syrah. The first nose is centered on the empyreumatic aromas (toast) created by the ageing process, which nonetheless leave room for fresh, fruity scents. Rich, powerful and promising, the palate is underpinned by solid tannins that are still strict and need to mellow. The barrel is also very present on the palate, and will fade with time. Great potential.(Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)
Château des Estanilles - Vallongue rosé 2019

Château des Estanilles - Raison d'Être 2014
90-92/100 Robert Parker
"Not yet bottled when tasted, Faugères Raison d'Etre 2014 is one step ahead of the cuvée L'Impertinent with this blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre. Completely de-stemmed, aged 20 months in foudres, this clean, classy Faugères is pleasantly structured and offers plenty of minerality due to the schist, crushed black fruits as well as floral and chocolate notes on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and certainly impressive, it will be pleasant to drink now and should evolve further with grace" (Wine Advocate - 2016).
