Château des Estanilles
Château des Estanilles is located on one of the finest terroirs in the Faugères appellation in the Languedoc region. The Château des Estanilles estate was created from scratch in 1976 by Michel Louison, a self-taught wine enthusiast. Château des Estanilles has just undergone a change of ownership, and the upcoming 2010 vintage has been vinified by the brand-new team led by young, dynamic investor Julien Seydoux.

The vineyards of Château des Estanilles extend over 35 hectares of vines cultivated with great rigor and respect, in certified organic agriculture since 2010, on the hills of the Faugères appellation. The vines are cultivated without weedkillers or chemical fertilizers, using traditional ploughing and organic soil improvers to keep the soil alive and encourage deep rooting. The wines are low in acidity, full of ripe fruit and spice, pleasant to drink, with a fine tannic structure, but with great finesse, velvet and elegance.

"The 18 months in barrel leave their mark on this almost pure Syrah, with a toasty, vanilla nose and a background of black fruits. Present on the palate but not overdone, the ageing has nicely coated the fine, firm tannins that support the ample, greedy flesh and remarkable freshness. This red has plenty of depth and potential, and will be forgotten for a few years in the cellar". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)
